Volunteering with ADO

We Want You As A New Recruit! - Volunteers Wanted

We want you as a new recruit!

If you would love to work with people and also work with animals, horticulture-gardening or within the wonderful environment of wildlife and nature, we are looking for some keen individuals to help out from time to time as a Volunteer. We are always on the look out for like-minded individuals to help out at ADO. We would love to have a large team of seasoned professionals within our ranks, but the reality of our situation is that we often have to rely on the goodwill, generosity and kindness of people as passionate about animals, horticulture, wildlife and nature as we are, especially during peak season times.

Opportunities

As we provide our services in the community, we often require additional volunteers to help out with various events, projects and encounters, especially during the summer season when we get really busy. We welcome like-minded individuals who would like to get involved and help out from time to time. Our work is public facing and we often work with children, young people, disadvantaged people and the disabled, therefore there are a number of opportunities for people with experience in these areas or those willing to learn. We of course work with a whole range of live animals, all creatures great and small!

Animal Care - Level 2 or 3 Animal Management preferred

Events and Encounters - Work with us in the Community

After School Clubs and Holiday Clubs - Experience working with children and DBS preferred

Horticulture - Gardening and Projects

Forest School and Bushcraft

Land or Enclosure Building Projects - We currently have projects in Welling and Eltham in progress to join

Do You Fit The Bill?

We are looking for enthusastic people aged 16 and over who love animals, wildlife and nature and can work in a team in a public facing role with a wide range of people. This is an opportunity to be involved with a dynamic community company where by you will have the opportunity to work in a number of different areas including animal encounters, events, activity days, holiday clubs, projects or animal-horticulture therapy events. We are especialy keen to encourage people who don't necessarily have experience working with animals, but have plenty of experience working with people or the public. We can always train you up on the 'animal' bit!

We can not offer you fame and fortune, but we can offer you a chance to be involved in something that's both enjoyable to you and to the people and organisations that we provide a service to.

Future Prospects?

We are actively looking at a number of funding streams for projects and initiatives that may lHands Up! - Who Wants To Volunteer?ead to paid roles in the future. Our belief as a community company is to build a business where by we can provide employment opportunities to local people with the services we can provide. Becoming a volunteer can often be a good career move! You may start as a volunteer, but in time the role could develop and could turn into a permanent position. Many of our volunteers have now progressed to paid roles.

How Often Can I Volunteer?

We work 7 days a week here at ADO. There is plenty of weekday work and weekend work on offer. We do prefer those volunteers who can commit to regular sessions rather the ad-hoc one-off sessions.

How Do I Sign Up?

To find out more about how to become an ADO volunteer and to speak to a member of our team in confidence, you can contact us using the details below. All we require from you is to complete a Volunteer Application Form. Once we have reviewed the form, we will work out the best area for you. Once you have been accepted as a volunteer we will arrange for you to attend some induction training before volunteering.

Become a part of our team! Its great fun, an opportunity to meet a whole range of people and work at something you really enjoy doing.
