Who We Are
Animal Days Out is a trading name of Kylanja Ltd. We have been trading since 2004 and have over 35 years experience in company operations, operational consultancy, project management, IT and business systems within the City and West End of London.
Looking to diversify and move away from the rat race, we decided we wanted to work on a project which we felt passionate about. In utilising our vast business skills, our aim is to make a positive impact for animal, wildlife, and nature businesses and to assist in the general education of animal wellfare, animal conservation and endangered species.
October 2009 saw the beginning of Animal Days Out! as we launched our website.

The Animal Days Out Gift Store - A Present For The Future
The Animal Days Out team care about our planet and the future generations who will need to live in it. We believe we can all make changes, however small, that will help to make a difference to the future.
Animal Days Out has carefully selected products for our Online Themed Gift store which are either Ethical, Fairtrade, Organic, Natural, Recycled, Recyclable and Eco-Friendly.
To assist our customers make informed choices, we have used various icons within the product detail to denote which of the above attributes apply to the individual products listed.
We have made environmentally responsible choices with our packaging. We have sourced various environmentally friendly packaging products across different suppliers:
- The standard mailing boxes we use are 75% recycled and are fully recyclable after use
- The A5 gift boxes we use are made from 100% recycled paper
- The Printed Gift Box sleeves are FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council) from sustainable sources
- The mailing jackets we use are Eco Polyjackets which are made from Oxo-biodegradable polythene and are safe to be deposited in a landfill site
- The bubble wrap we use is Oxo-biodegradable and recyclable. It is fully recyclable but also safe to be deposited in a landfill site
- We use separate bubble wrap with mailing jackets instead of bubble mailers to simplify the recycling process for the customer
- The tape we use is a silicone free paper tape which uses a long lasting natural adhesive. For simple recycling, this tape can be recycled with the boxes.
- The tissue wrap we use is either 100% recycled or recyclable
We support Reuse/Reduce/Recycle waste management.
We re-use any packing boxes and packing materials from our supplier orders within our own customer orders or convert them to void fill packing material.
We aim to keep our packaging of orders as small as possible without impacting the quality of protection required for the various goods.
We recycle our office paper by shredding it and utilising it for void fill on our packaging. The paper can then be recycled again by the customer on receipt.
We use separate bubble wrap with mailing jackets instead of bubble mailers to simplify the recycling process for the customer.
Our selected suppliers' individual packaging is mainly produced with biodegradable or recyclable materials.
We recycle our print or toner cartridges and our mobile phones via the RSBP Recycling Appeal which raises funds for their wildlife and conservation projects
We use Freecycle for any office or home items as relevant
We now collect our exhausted batteries and store them for proper disposal
We use low energy light bulbs in our office and home and use energy saving devices for our hardware.
We also have a designated energy monitor in the office and at home to help remind us to switch items and lights off when not in use. Busy lives often contribute to forgetting the smaller but important things!
We try to avoid car travel and use bike or public transport wherever possible in order to reduce our carbon footprint. We support Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity.
