Information For Groups

Information For Groups

We offer a range of services for groups of children, young people and adults with learning difficulties or mental health issues, health problems and the elderly. These can take place at our centre or at your venue or location of your choice.

The groups may be individuals with similar interests and needs brought together as part of a workshop or programme or a group from an organisation or care home for example.

Supporting Groups

Our commitment to supporting groups can be delivered in many different ways including:

Events - We can support your events by running AAA and/or Horticultural Activities on the day for your members and visitors to enjoy

Programmes - We can design programmes for groups that can be run as sessions over a set number of weeks with a specific agenda, purpose and outcomes.

Respite and Carer Sessions - We run weekly sessions for people living with mental or physical illnesses to come and spend some therapeutic time with our animals and enjoy outdoor activities at our site whilst their carers get some well earned respite time. We can set up a session for your organisation tailored to the specific needs of your group

♦ Nature and Outdoor Therapy Groups - Tailored to the needs of your group, these sessions encompass Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) and outdoor activities such as forsest school and bushcraft.

♦ Animal Assisted Activity Groups - These can take place at our site or your centre on a weekly basis, providing your service users the opportunity to experience the ongoing benefits of AAA. This can encourage social interaction, improve self-esteem and help with mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. These groups can be tailored for any age and are suitable for a wide range of setting including special needs schools, community groups, day centres, hospitals, residential care homes and secure children’s homes, PRU’s and prisons.

Sessions or One-Off?

Our customers have enjoyed and gained positive results from both one-off events or therapy sessions right up to a commitment of booking weekly sessions throughout the year. The more sessions booked for groups, the more discount we can pass onto the customer.

Meeting the Group Needs

Our customers have ranged from dementia groups, to residential care homes, to specialist schools for children with additional needs. All have benefitted from our flexible approach, diverse services and vast array of animal, nature and outdoor activities that we can offer. It really is possible for the Animals For Therapy team to put together a completely unique programme of activities for groups week in and week out for them.
